"Bye," Trevor said.

He rose maybe six feet before someone invisible slammed into him.

"Niki!" he called out. He'd wrestled with Niki thousands of times over their three years of training together, he knew her body and body language well, what moves she made when she fought, what it felt like when she slammed into him. So, a second time, this time a question:

     "Niki?"

"Hi," Niki said. They  were on their butts on the ice. The training uniforms they wore, provided to them by the Azure, more or less protected them from the harsh Arctic chill.

"What are you doing?" Trevor barked. "You just saw me say bye!"

"I thought somebody'd jumped you!" Niki barked back. "I thought I was helping!"
