The blizzard came up quick.

Like, one second, barely a breeze.

The next second, not a breeze but a strong wind, and tons of snow.

     Within moments, snow ankle deep.

It became very hard to see.

     Not only that, though...

     WHAM!

Something hit the ice not four yards from where Abby huddled with her family.

     Hard!

Hard enough to knock the family completely off their feet to send them scattering.

     WHAM!

The child flew out of Abby's arms to skid away on the ice.

The snow fell so heavy by then, it was like he disappeared into the swirling whiteness.

     "No!"

The four family members wrapped their arms tight around each other again as they rose back to their feet. They all looked like they were getting very, very cold very, very quickly.

They'd have to huddle around the child again or they'd be frozen within minutes.
