When I decided to forget about being a professional writer and, instead, "write the hell what I wanted," a lot of what I wrote came from the libido, because it seemed to me at the time, and still seems to me, that some very powerful and profound images and insights come from that particular area of the mind and soul. For instance, and this might very well be my own odd little obsessive perception, but all of visual art I've ever seen of any consequence has some element of sexuality about it, even if it's, like, a Jackson Pollock. The majority of music is designed to, either through dancing or crooning, elevate the libido.
And don't even get me started with World History. I was going to go into a few kings and emperors to make my point, but why? What it seems to come down to is, the richer and more powerful a man is, the more he allows himself to indulge in his sexual passions, make his sexual fantasies real. The first thing a regular feller thinks about when he imagines being rich is filling his life with opportunities for sex.
This Throb business. It's a huge topic is what I'm saying.
