The third time the ray smacked her in the chest, she didn't bother to get back to her feet but instead just flew up in the air.

She flew right at the weapon.

The emitter hit her a fourth time.

This one caught her in the forehead and sent her flying, twitching, twisting back through open air. The weapon zeroed in on her head, then hit her midair with a fifth blast. Now the air around the beam wasn't just singed, it was in flames, which was one of the downsides of using such a weapon. If Claudia kept using the anti-matter transmitter, the very air itself would begin to break down into flame and ash. In a way, it was like pitching a black hole in the air like a marble. Soon, the Earth, the sky, everything, all matter would come apart.

Tindriss bounced off the inside of Claudia's force field, then dropped to the ground.
