BAM!
The four of them were being fired upon! The panicked populace below on the sidewalk were pulling out their weapons to fire at the first thing they saw that scared them, which at the moment just happened to be four people floating in midair over their heads.
"You can let me go now, Nacy," Brock muttered.
"You sure?" Estelle asked. "You still look a little..."
But then the matter became moot because they all landed on the pavilion. Brock shrugged to pull loose from Shawnacy's grasp, then wheeled away from the other three. He let everyone see that he could, once again, utilize his azure energy power. He rose four feet in the air, six.
BAM! BAM!
The people down below shot at him! Damn!
"Get back down here!" Estelle barked. "Stop showing off!"
Back down he came to be with everyone else just as Estelle's phone rang. She looked at it.
"It's Noel," she said.
"Where are they?" Brock asked.
Estelle held up a finger as if to say, hold on a minute. She listened to what Noel had to say. Then, "Okay. Yeah, okay. Keep in touch." She cut the connection. "Trevor and Noel are just fine," she said. "They're sitting a girder in some underground fortress here on the grounds."
"They don't sound fine to me," Brock said.
"I mean, they're not hurt. Now what about Adam? He's the whole reason we're here, right?"
"I can't get him" Gramps said. "He's not answering his phone."
"Well then what..."
"Adam is far from defenseless," Gramps said. "When he emerged from the ground, the first thing he did was go to this utility locker that he and Claudia..."
"We're out of time," Estelle said. "We've got to get moving. Brock, you create a diversion. Nacy, you drop the rest of us in the middle of all those people. We'll lose ourselves in the crowd. That concession stand over there? That's where we'll meet."
"When we..."
"Go!"
