Adam walked up to the first associate he saw to smack him full in the face. The idea was to startle him, then pull the weapon out of his hands. The guy was a tough one, though, and he didn't startle that easy. Instead, he just kind of blinked from Adam's blow, then stepped back, gripping his weapon like it was his prized possession.
Adam dove for the ground then because he just knew associates were going to start shooting. And sure enough...
BAM! BAM!
Adam heard a guttural grunt as some associate took a bullet that was meant for him. No time for classy behavior. Adam dropped to a squatting position, then power punched an associate in the balls. Now that guy dropped his weapon. Adam scooped it up before it hit the floor and started firing. He was in such close proximity to everyone in that very enclosed space inside of a mountain. Blood splattered everywhere. No one really aimed. Adam went from squatting to leaping high in the air to shoot at everybody from up there. Bullets whizzed all around him, but none actually touched his body. As he fell to the floor, he dropped the weapon he held to snatch up two more that had fallen out of some dead associate's hands. All of a sudden, no associate in that room seemed in the mood to fight. All anyone wanted to do was get out of that room and away from this seemingly unstoppable killing machine. They had a hard time, though, because everyone kept slipping on blood and tripping over each other's falling or fallen bodies. Adam helped them along by firing into their backs as they ran. Someone grabbed his neck from behind in an effort to snap it. Adam countered by elbowing him in the hip so hard as to dislocate it.
Now, at last, for a moment anyway, he was alone.
