WHAM! Centurian smacked into Adam as hard as he could, so hard that they shattered the console they then slammed against. SMASH! How had he recovered from the mini-grenades so fast? The fact was, he hadn't. The grenades had, in fact, damaged or shattered over half of his one hundred arms, rendering them useless, but that didn't stop Centurian from coming at Adam with everything he had left. Adam staggered away from the smashed console with Centurian still wailing on him. He drove Adam to his knees with his onslaught.

I don't have time for this, Adam thought. The missiles are still launching. CLUNK! Roar! CLUNK! Roar! They were rendezvousing in the sky, but soon they would be whistling their way to a destiny that would drive humankind to its knees. Centurian kept smacking Adam's skull. WHAP! WHAP! WHAP! Adam couldn't think past the pain to form any sort of...

WHAM! Centurian caught Adam's forehead with a truly good SMACK! He put everything he had in it, even as his damaged battle uniform sparked and crackled. Adam's vision kaleidoscoped. Pain erupted in his mind like a bomb blast. So where in the hell was Claudia? Get a Stargod in here, and he'd blow this bastard into so much...and now he didn't feel sure he'd be able to retaliate properly even if...BAM! That was an armored fist to his head as hard as any he'd taken so far. Now he really couldn't concentrate...couldn't come up with any sort of defensive...

"HAH! THE MIGHTY ADAM FORWARDER!" the Silver Centipede bellowed. "I KNEW I'D BE ABLE TO TAKE YOU OUT, GIVEN HALF A CHANCE!" He raised his dozens of arms all at once.  He wanted to make the next volley of punching fists to take Adam's head clean off. Yes, with his...

      ZZZZZZZAAAAAAP!

The blast from the sonic bazooka caught Centurian full in the chest, kinocking him away from Adam to go smashing against the nearest wall. What the...Who the..

The other silver warrior, the Silver Scorpion, stood unsteady on two feet, the same bazooka Adam had dropped now nestled in his arms. "ENOUGH OF THIS!" he roared. "THIS HAS ALL GOT TO END! NO MORE KILLING! I'VE HAD ENOUGH! IT'S GOT TO STOP! I'VE HAD IT! I'VE HAD IT!" Axel felt agony explode within himself again, Valtair demonstrating who he felt was in charge, but Axel no longer cared about that, even though the pain was all but paralyzing. It wasn't as intense as it'd been before anyway. His Silver Scorpion armor fell in broken chunks from his body even as he took step after now awkward step towards Adam and Centurian. Crackle! Crackle! He smelled burning toxic something within his uniform. As a "super villain", he didn't have much longer to go.

Alacran reached Adam just as Adam managed to get back to his feet. And the Silver Centipede was back, too, recovered from the sonic blast, the front of his armor now nothing more than a charred and disfigured mass of metal circuits and twisted, useless arms. He had dozens of other arms that were functional, but still...

One difference between Alacran and Centurian's armor: Alacran had no clear visor on his helmet. Anyone who looked at him saw only armor and no actual human features. Centurian's helmet did have a clear visor, however, so even as he charged furiously at Adam and Alacran, Axel saw the Silver Centipede's human face clearly.

     Oh my God.

"Rory," Axel muttered. In that moment, he felt his life go full circle.

     "Rory Jarrett, it's you!"
