"You can't possibly be thinking of going out there," Abby said.
Trevor never took his eyes off Silveria.
"Something feels different," he said. "You want to hear something crazy? I think that, this time, after...oh man, this really does sound crazy. I think she's evolved over the last couple of years."
"Oh Trevor, please," Cathy said, her tone saying, I love you, and I know you're a warrior and all, but you are sooooo naive.
"No, hear me out. Where has she been for the last three years?"
"We thought you killed her," Skip said.
"She's been staying hidden," Trevor said. "I think she wanted to get a better and longer look at this universe she found herself in. And she was...What I'm seeing right now as I look at her is a being far more human than the one we knew a couple of years ago."
Abby and Cathy shot each other a look, like, oh brother.
The child on Abby's lap looked unhappy in the way only children can when adults are acting stupid.
"We are talking about the same entity who broke every bone in your body twice, right?" Abby asked.
"After the Azure got done with their healers, I was good as new."
"No more Azure, Trevor, remember? No more Azure and no more healers."
"You don't think I don't know that? I want to cry like a baby over the wounds I've got on my calf. I'm just saying, if it comes down to it, I bet I can talk to this version of Silveria."
