​     Adam could easily see the curvature of the Earth. ​That's how high up he still was. The way he was pointed, he could see clouds and land masses and plenty of water straight ahead. Then,

     "Got you, Claudia. I've got you spotted."  

     "Same here. Aim towards me." 

​     "I can't aim anywhere!" 

​     At which point, just like that, the jet pack sputtered and died. The corpse was no longer any good to him, so Adam kicked it away. To him, it didn't seem so much like he fell as flew, but he knew, in reality, the truth. No, he was falling and falling fast.

     "Claudia, where are you? I've lost track of you again." 

​     "You made it, Adam! I'm right next to you!"

     "Hurry up and grab me!"

​     "I'm trying! I'm trying!"
