     "Yope,"  Adam himself swung on to the gravel median that separated the traffic going north and south.  No SCREECHing for him, not with the vehicle he navigated. It stopped cold on the gravel as it would on a dime, then spun so that it faced the highway going north rather than south. He hit the accelerator, and his Stargod took off, going from zero to eighty in less than eight seconds, in hot pursuit of one Mr. Carter Paul. Adam did all he could to keep from panicking the drivers of the other cars, yet still stay twenty miles over the speed limit at all times.
