Trevor climbed out of the car to find himself in one of Seatrailia's residential neighborhoods.  Gramps'd pulled into the driveway of a house with a porch, and on that porch stood a woman, her hair blonde and streaked with gray, her body plump without being fat.

That's Abby, Trevor thought. That's Gramps' daughter, and her name is Abby.

"I'll be right with you," he said from the bottom of the stairway. "I'm calling Helen."

Helen's phone rang several times before, finally,

"Honey?" Helen asked, and, by doing so, really said and asked, you know I'm at work. What's so important?

"I-I'm having the craziest day I've ever had before in my life, Helen."

     "Okay, so..."

"I just got out of a car with people I've never seen before in my life but whose names I know and who were both in my dream last night."

     "Trevor!"

"What are you in the middle of?"

     "You..."

"Is there some way you can get out of work right now, say there's some sort of emergency or something?"

     "Is there an emergency?"

"You know me, Helen. I don't have the kind of mind that regularly loses touch with reality."

     "To say the least."

"Okay, so when I tell you my morning has been filled with things that could not possibly happen and that I feel I am in the middle of an out-of-control terrifying reality right now, I need you to believe me." Trevor choked back a sob. "I want you with me, Helen. Please."

A pause, then, "I'll talk to Brad. I so rarely ask for time off like this, there shouldn't be a problem. Where you at, Trevor? Where can I meet you?"

Damn. That was a good question. Trevor looked around for a street sign. The only sign he saw was way down the block. Damn.

"You know what, Helen?" he said. "Don't leave just yet. I want to find out exactly what I'm doing here, first."

"You sure that's the way you want to go?"

"I am not sure about even one single thing, but I don't feel I'm in any real danger. Don't put your phone away, though. I may need you quick."

     "Trevor!"

"I'll tell you one thing: The sooner this day is over, the better I'll like it."
